This year, the EmersonWRITES Fall 2025 in-person classes will run on Wednesday evenings, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., starting Wednesday, October 1, with dinner provided.
Our virtual class options will run on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting September 29, and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting October 2, over Zoom.
In all courses, students are required to complete original creative work for publication in our annual anthology, SPINE.
A mandatory one-day Orientation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will include free lunch. In-person students are required to join Orientation on campus. Virtual students are welcome to join but will receive all Orientation information during their first day of class. More information will be provided to accepted students over email.
We are also hosting a College Access Day event on campus on November 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This will include college information sessions and workshops and will be offered in hybrid format for both in-person and online engagement.
A hybrid Showcase Rehearsal will be Wednesday evening, January 14, 2026, and Showcase will be Saturday, January 17, 2026, in a hybrid structure for both virtual and in-person engagement.
Please note that due to classroom capacity limits, students may be offered a waitlist placement or may be encouraged to apply next year if they are not accepted into our 2025 program year. With that said, please only apply if you are certain you can commit to the class schedule and take part in the Showcase.
