Please note: for the open response below: The use of generative AI tools is not allowed. While such tools may be useful in some situations, they are at odds with fostering deliberate and confident decision-making and interrupts or replaces processes of creativity, sometimes at their origin. In other words, relying on AI prevents you from gaining experience in your craft. All work, including application entry, should be prepared by the student. Participation in this program requires adherence to this policy.

Class is on the Boston campus each Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. including free dinner starting Thursday, October 1, 2026 with Faculty Director and Emerson Assistant Professor, Dana Edell, at the Paramount Center.

There is no virtual option for rehearsals.

EmersonTHEATER’s Fall 2026 program will run from Thursday, October 1 through Thursday, December 10, excluding November 26. This year’s showcase will take place on Saturday, December 12 and there will be a final class to debrief the year on Tuesday, December 15.

Our mandatory Orientation for our Pathway Programs (both EmersonWRITES and EmersonTHEATER) will be Friday, September 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Location details and other information will be provided in advance to accepted students and families over email.

Additional opportunities for our students to experience field trips, workshops, information sessions, and panel discussions will also be circulated in advance to accepted students and families over email.

Please note that due to classroom capacity limits, students may be offered a waitlist placement or may be encouraged to apply next year if they are not accepted into our 2026 program year. With that said, please only apply if you are certain you can commit to the rehearsal schedule and take part in the showcase.
