About the Federal CRRSA Act Funding

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) Higher Education Emergency Relief Act II has provided $1,367,157 to Emerson College to provide emergency financial aid grants to students whose lives continue to be disrupted due to COVID-19. This act follows most of the guidelines of the previous CARES Act rules and regulations with some notable changes in regards to eligibility for funding and eligible expenses. Students may apply for funds for expenses incurred on or after March 13, 2020. Financial aid grants for students may be used for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care. Applicants must be attending Undergraduate or Graduate courses, either online or in person, as of the 2020-2021 academic year. Please note that the CRRSAA requires that institutions prioritize students with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell Grants, in awarding financial aid grants to students. We will review all applications and make every effort to connect students to other financial resources if they are not eligible to receive CRRSAA funds or are seeking additional funding. Students are eligible to apply more than once during the year, provided that funding is still available. If approved, funds will be delivered directly to the student via direct deposit or applied to your student account balance for direct/Emerson-billed expenses, if authorized.
